Frequently asked questions

Where are my notes stored?

Entirely on your device, encrypted. There is no cloud and no account.

I forgot my PIN. Can you reset it?

No one can recover it — the PIN is stored only as a salted hash on your device. If you can still unlock with Face ID / Touch ID you can change the PIN in Settings. Otherwise the encrypted data cannot be recovered without it.

What happens if I lose my device or delete the app?

Because the encryption keys live only on the device, deleting the app or losing the device means the data cannot be recovered. Use Settings → Export Notes (.clx) regularly to keep a password-protected backup.

Does dictation send my voice anywhere?

Dictation prefers on-device recognition, which keeps audio on your iPhone and works offline. If your language has no on-device model available, iOS uses Apple’s speech-recognition service to transcribe it (audio is handled by Apple, not by us). To favor on-device, enable Dictation and install your language in iOS Settings → General → Keyboard.

Dictation isn’t producing any text.

Make sure Dictation is turned on: iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Enable Dictation. If it is disabled, speech recognition cannot run.

Why does the 3D viewer work without internet?

The .glb viewer is bundled inside the app and runs fully offline.

How do I move my notes to a new phone?

On the old device: Settings → Export Notes (.clx), choose a password. On the new device: Settings → Import Notes, pick the file and enter the password.
